I'm late in getting back to the comments on this, but I wanted to say thansk for the comment, it's very much appreciated. You are right, the 'oh wait a second, what IS this?!' is a reaction I do find desirable as a writer, just something to push people to think about things in certain ways, or consider dynamics and issues from angles they haven't looked at before, so I do very much appreciate your comment because it's a little notch on the success-side of my writing.
