I don't, in fact, disagree, that all of them had ideas of who or what Lisa was and that, say, for Ianto what he saw in her, was the idea of what they had and that none of them saw her (as much as you can see and know another person, ever, with a filter of your own expectations and experiences always intruding and skewing your perception) as her -- writing from Ianto's point of view in these pieces would not shed and cannot shed light on who Lisa really was.
If she was still in there inside in the conversion unit: I'm not sure. I don't think she was still in there as the person she was that Ianto has known (not because of metal bits replacing her brain but just because of what she's been through) but I do believe that part of her was still there, part of her that wanted to love Ianto, that possibly still loved Ianto, and also part of her that wanted to die.
