I'd always planned to do something with that first bit, set it into context of how things develop after. I'm not sure it really came quite together here but I think it sorta works, glad you like it (and man, I kept having thoughts of that one picture of GDL smoking a cigarette in the dark while in Ianto costume when writing this.).
