Usually when people write non-canon AU it's modern AUs set in today's time. There's a steampunk AU, I know of, and there's probably a handful of others, but yeah, with robot as part of the prompt, I figured I might as well go all out and do cyberpunk, essentially. Glad to hear the characters still sound like themselves even across the change in genres. Personally, the idea of Merlin making Arthur who he is, that stood at the centre for me, and the prompt was pretty great to play with in that respect because it was possible to make that very literal.
